MARGARET RIVER PROVIDORE INTRODUCES NEW DIMENSION TO WINE/FOOD TOURISM IN MARGARET RIVER The latest addition to Margaret River’s wine and food tourism industry has captured the essence of the region’s fresh produce philosophy and packaged it into an interactive, tourism destination like nothing the area has seen before. Margaret River Providore combines vineyards, olive groves and organic vegetable gardens with the finest take-home foods and ingredients from the region, Australia and around the world – all on a working farm. With a stunning new tasting centre near the well established chocolate factory in the heart of Wilyabrup, the new sales and tasting facility offers visitors the opportunity to see fresh produce in the organic gardens, watch it being made into various products in the Providore kitchens and then sample the products. It also brings together a collection of fine gourmet take-home foods and ingredients from herbs and spices, teas and dried goods, through to fresh pasta sauces, olives and fresh baguettes. Wine and olive oil lovers will also be able to sample and purchase the property’s own oil and wine ranges under the Mount of Olives and Coward & Black labels. Coward & Black is already receiving rave reviews for its first vintage, producing two stunning Margaret River favourites – a light, fruity Semillon Sauvignon Blanc and a complex, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. Visitors can sample free wine tastings or enjoy try their decadent new range of chocoloate liqueurs. Margaret River Providore owner and food and wine lover Patrick Coward has spent the last three years researching the project and the last 12 months building the impressive manufacturing and cellar door facility.
