The founding artists of Australia’s independent music scene, The Waifs are honored to have America’s leading lady of independence, Ani DiFranco and her band along for the ride.
The Waifs have been one of West Australia's most loved and appreciated bands over their 20 year history. Building their fan base the hard way, playing every corner of the country, earning respect of peers and fans alike for their tenacity and drive to do things their own way. From the back streets of sleepy towns in WA, to an internationally loved, multiple ARIA Award winning multiple platinum selling act, (their latest release Sun Dirt Water now also platinum), The Waifs have paved the way for Australian independent artists to be able to forge successful careers outside of the major label rules.
The Waifs started their career by touring WA from town to town in the back of a Toyota Hiace van, booking their own shows, promoting their own shows and releasing their own CDs. Each night they would package their CDs in post packs and send them out to record stores and fans alike. The only person who they could look to for inspiration for forming the true independent model in Australia was the inimitable Ani DiFranco. Tickets $60 adults / $10 children under 14 plus booking fee.

TICKETS NOW SOLD OUT!
Leeuwin Estate Winery in Margaret River is delighted to present Chris Isaak to perform the 25th annual Leeuwin Concert Series.
Showcasing his stellar songwriting, smooth, dusky baritone and effortless brand of stylish retro-cool, Chris Isaak displays many different musical personas: the rockabilly rebel ("Dancin'," "Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing," "Speak Of The Devil"), the brokenhearted crooner ("Wicked Game," "Somebody's Crying"), and the breezy acoustic storyteller ("San Francisco Days," "Two Hearts") through to the elegant "King Without A Castle" and the break-up exhortation "Let's Have A Party."
In the course of Chris Isaak's career, he has released nine extraordinary albums, twelve singles, been nominated for two Grammy awards, acted in several motion pictures and starred in his own critically acclaimed TV series. His legendary charismatic live concert performances with his longtime band Silvertone have entertained audiences and earned him a legion of fans over the past two decades.
The 2009 Leeuwin Concert promises a magical night of alfresco music accompanied by fine wine and food under the stars at Leeuwin Estate. The Concert will be followed by the traditional post concert Leeuwin Party, with dancing until midnight.

Hit the wall in your daily grind?
Looking for an adrenaline rush? Total relaxation? A little of both?
Divide and conquer and indulge on an adventure megafest in the adrenaline town of Dunsborough Geographe Bay and cash in on an endless summer vibe that’s guaranteed to keep the demons of burnout at bay.
We’ve been busy prowling the trails and connecting the dots over a radical new course through a jackpot of tightly packed parks and private land that is sure to challenge and inspire adventure enthusiasts of all abilities. Big surf and bombing single track, they’re all on the menu at this outdoor oasis.
The surfing ain’t bad either.
Stoked up on caffeine and a pinch of lunacy you’re primed to tame the tide in a deep water start that will take you 1.8km through the pancake flat waters of Geographe Bay from Dunsborough Boat Ramp to Centenary Park. Advance with the armada on a ‘whale watching’ paddle from Dunsborough down the tide sculptured coastline to Bunker Bay then treat your feet to a rough and tumble run around the Cape and over Leeuwin Ridge’s sandy slopes before you bullet breathless downhill into transition. With hammering hearts and a rocket rush of adrenaline you’ll exit Transition to embark on a shock-slamming journey that’ll test the toughness and prowess of all mountain bikers before you rejoin your race hardened comrades at Dunsborough Boat Ramp for the final back slapping beach run to glory.
Special mention needs to be made of the enthusiasm and support received from private land owners in granting exclusive access to the scenic landscapes through which the race traverses.
Broaden your perspective, push your limits, reignite your sense of possibility and uncork Anaconda’s apocalypse in 2009. You can do it!
