'BEST OF THE BIBBULMUN' ALL-INCLUSIVE GUIDED TOUR |
Date: 6th to 14th September 2010
Venue: Bibbulmun Track
The popular 8-day Highlights of the Bibbulmun Track departs in the midst of the spectacular wildflower season. Led by experienced guides from the Bibbulmun Track Foundation, this tour takes in some spectacular scenery along the Track.
The iconic Bibbulmun Track in Western Australia is one of the world’s great long-distance walk trails, stretching almost 1000kms from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills to Albany on the south coast. The Track passes through some of the most diverse and beautiful coastal, forest and wilderness areas of Australia’s south west, and this tour allows participants to experience glimpses of the very best sections. In 2004 and 2006 the Bibbulmun Track won the WA Tourism Award for Significant Tourist Attraction and was a finalist in 2007 and 2008.
The itinerary has been carefully compiled to combine a variety of day-walks with off-track accommodation. The specially selected full and half-day walks cover varied landscapes of the Track from the rolling hills and jarrah forests in the northern section, through the magnificent karri and tingle forest to the spectacular ocean views and coastal heathlands in the far south. Lead Guide, Steve Sertis, who has walked the length of the Track three times and knows it ‘like the back of his hand’ said “These tours are a great way to showcase the best of the Track and offer a unique experience to participants".
A private bus provides transport to and from the Track each day and participants will experience a number of unique eco-tourism attractions in the region. Each evening the group returns to comfortable accommodation in the rural towns and villages along the Track. The group is limited to 16 and the cost is $2,400 twin share (single supplements available). Participants need carry only a small daypack, and the flexible itinerary caters for all levels of experience.
The Bibbulmun Track Foundation is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation established to provide support for the management, maintenance and marketing of the Bibbulmun Track. They have been conducting guided walks on the Bibbulmun Track for a number of years. All proceeds from this trip support the ongoing sustainability of the Bibbulmun Track.

Available for groups of six or more, the pre purchased ticket entry will include tapas and complimentary wine during the afternoon. This area is limited to 120 people and will be perfect for hosting clients and friends.
Chefs Challenge
The Chefs Challenge will take on a variation to 2009 with up to eight positions open to individuals wishing to make their mark. Nominations will be open to both chefs and apprentices. They will nominate before the event to prepare a signature dish at the festival. A Mystery Local Produce Basket will be announced four weeks before the Festival allowing entrants to design and prepare for the day. All chefs will compete two at a time on the main stage during the day for the annual trophy won last year by John, the Singing Chef.
Main Stage
The stage at Bicentennial Square will be opened up to the public this year, featuring the Chefs Challenge and also the Wine Appreciation Seminars. It will be a big program and with seven different sessions on offer.
Wine & Beer Stalls
Our application this year has included an opportunity for on site sales by the glass to be taken on. Tastings are still an important part of the presentation and companies must still provide these. Having glass sales will mean people wishing to enjoy a meal with a fuller wine can do so. Packaged (take home) sales are also available.
Food Promotions
We are encouraging more companies with local produce to join us. Small and large producers of WA foods should attend to taste, sell and inform people where the can buy all year round. See It, Touch It, Taste It, Try It, Buy It!
Other Exhibitors
Besides food and wine, other types of displays include tourism, craft and produce.

Renowned for their potent cocktail of fashion, romance, nostalgia and futurism, Roxy left a massive footprint on British popular culture with classic hits including Dance Away, Avalon, Let's Stick Together, Do the Strand, Angel Eyes, Oh Yeah, In the Midnight Hour, Jealous guy and More Than This.
Roxy Music formed in 1971 and their '72 self-titled debut album, declared by many as the best first album ever, cleared the path for a saunter into the UK top five by the ravishingly stylish first single 'Virginia Plain'. Before the year ended Roxy had completed their opening tours of both the UK and US.
Almost everything that Roxy achieved during the next decade, including seven more studio albums, has become part of the fabric of rock history, from singles like 'Pyjamarama', 'Street Life' and 'Love Is The Drug' to Bryan Ferry's ever-influential wardrobe and those legendary album covers. They topped the album charts with 1973's 'Stranded', 1980's 'Flesh and Blood' and their last studio album 'Avalon', and it wasn't long before the compilation album 'Street Life' raced to No.1 in 1986 and stayed there five weeks. They disbanded while still at the top of their game.
The remastered and critically acclaimed reappearance of the entire Roxy catalogue in 2000 preceded the reunited Roxy Music 2001 World Tour which confirmed that the legacy had only appreciated with time. Critics were unanimous in their unequivocal praise: "literally inimitable", "consistently cited as influential by modern heroes", "the experience is more like re-reading a good book", "...received an ecstatic response from the crowd", "Roxy Music surprising us again." Bryan Ferry's 1999 solo album "As Time Goes By" gained significant recognition with a Grammy 2001 nomination.
In 2005 Roxy Music played a stunning set at the Isle of Wight Festival, followed by festival dates in Europe the following summer and a performance at Live 8's Berlin concert. In 2010 they will play their first gigs in five years including the Lovebox Weekender festival, setting the scene for their 2011 Leeuwin Concerts. For all the imitators and admirers, no one has ever successfully cloned the unique and unknowable combination of elements that comprised Roxy Music. Three decades later it's time, to enjoy ROXY MUSIC at Leeuwin Estate.
Guests are invited to stay after the main performance and enjoy the party atmosphere and dancing to the post concert entertainment!
