In 2009 the Cape to Cape MTB will run over new days, making it more convenient for those who need to take time off from work or other commitments to participate. Running from Thursday to Sunday, the new days will allow more people to either take 2 days off to complete the 4 day ride or arrive on the Saturday morning for the 2 day ride finishing Sunday afternoon. Of course, there is still the option of completing just the 1 day on either the Saturday or Sunday and enjoying the rest of the weekend in the beautiful Margaret River region. It’s up to you!
The 2009 Cape to Cape MTB will offer fresh challenges, with some slight course adjustments taking place. The ride will still begin in Augusta at the picturesque Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse and end within the stunning grounds of Caves House, Yallingup. The journey however will feature less sand, new climbs, faster downhill and loads more single track for all the adrenalin junkies out there!
Early Bird rider registrations will be open via the website soon, but in the meantime you can register your interest for the 2009 Cape to Cape MTB at www.capetocapemtb.com.

We’ve been busy prowling the trails and connecting the dots over a radical new course through a jackpot of tightly packed parks and private land that is sure to challenge and inspire adventure enthusiasts of all abilities. Big surf and bombing single track, they’re all on the menu at this outdoor oasis.
The surfing ain’t bad either.

Advance with the armada on a ‘whale watching’ paddle from Dunsborough down the tide sculptured coastline to Bunker Bay then treat your feet to a rough and tumble run around the Cape and over Leeuwin Ridge’s sandy slopes before you bullet breathless downhill into transition. With hammering hearts and a rocket rush of adrenaline you’ll exit Transition to embark on a shock-slamming journey that’ll test the toughness and prowess of all mountain bikers before you rejoin your race hardened comrades at Dunsborough Boat Ramp for the final back slapping beach run to glory.
Special mention needs to be made of the enthusiasm and support received from private land owners in granting exclusive access to the scenic landscapes through which the race traverses.
Broaden your perspective, push your limits, reignite your sense of possibility and uncork Anaconda’s apocalypse in 2009. You can do it!
