CinefestOZ is being held from the 22nd August – 26th August 2012. The fifth year of CinefestOZ will remain centred in the idealic location of Busselton, with a number of other venues in the South West staging elements of the Festival line-up.

Building upon the amazing success of 2011, the team at CinefestOZ looks forward to bringing quality Australian and French film over the five night – four day festival. Features of our Festival Program will include the CinefestOZ Australian Screen Legends Award, an expanded Schools Program and even more quality French and Australian Films, Shorts and Documentaries.

CinéfestOZ 2011 delivered on its promise to bring extraordinary film and film talent to Western Australia. The five-day festival of film, premieres and gala events concluded on Sunday 28th August 2011, with our audience clearly happy with the results.

CinéfestOZ built on its ability to attract great new film and film talent to the festival. This year we were honoured to host filmmaker Fred Schepisi and actor David Wenham as the headline guests of the festival. These Australian film luminaries were awarded the CinéfestOZ Australian Screen Legends Award for 2011 at the Gala Event. Pictured are the actors from Birthday, CinefestOZ 2011 Opening Night film, Nat Eleftheriadis and Ra Chapman.

This year attendances at the festival films and associated events totaled 8300, a 38% increase on our results in 2010.  The Perth Metro audience increased its overall share of attendances, along with strong regional support from our South West audience and visitors from the Eastern States.

We are proud to acknowledge that our Festival audience's experience of CinéfestOZ was not only delivered by a small band of dedicated staff, but also a committed group of over 80 volunteers known as the Movie Crew, and the CinéfestOZ Board. A resounding thank you to all those involved.

The Festival in 2012 will continue to build upon it’s community based origins, signing up as a Movie Crew member is a great way of being part of the Festival buzz and contributing toward building CinefestOZ. For Movie Crew information click here.

Inlet and Ocean Paddle, 13km

MargaretRiver.com Team Run, 2.5km

Augusta - the name is almost as synonymous with adventure racing as Anaconda these days, such is the big reputation of this leg of the Anaconda Adventure Race National Series. So big that it's now roundly recognised as the world's largest adventure race. Some would argue it's also the best - with a large competitor field, and huge crowds, creating an electric adventure race atmosphere, like no other.

The course is spectacular - in the part of the world reknowned for coastlines that will blow your mind, as much as the racing that will blow your lungs.

We're talking true wilderness and untouched landscapes, in and around Augusta, in the south west of Western Australia. There's the dramatic run around rocky headlands as waves crash beside you; there's the swim over tranquil ocean reefs alive with (friendly) fish; the paddle across Hardy Inlet and out into the (protected parts) of the Southern Ocean; and the mountain bike course sweeping through inland forests, along single tracks that could be considered a fun park.

There is really nothing like it. It's the Wild West in every adventurous sense!

Learn to decipher the language of wine with Voyager Estate's Introduction to Wine Tasting,  an informal and fun introduction to the techniques of wine tasting.

Limited to 8 people, Sommelier, Claire Tonon, will help you identify what it is that makes you like or dislike wines, and to understand wine reviews.

Look at wine from a three step approach of appearance, aroma and taste, and learn to identify its principal elements - sugar, tannins, alcohol, acidity, body, intensity and character.

The main characteristics of Margaret River varietals such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon will be explored through the practical explanation of key wine descriptors.

Armed with the information gained in this 45 minute interactive session, we encourage you to develop your new tasting skills by visiting Margaret River's cellar doors.

Introduction to Wine Tasting is $20 per person, which is refundable on wine sales on the day, and is held each Saturday at 10.30am, at Voyager Estate.

Bookings are essential.  Please call the Wine Room on 08 9757 6354 or email wineroom@voyagerestate.com.au

Each year the Southern Right and Humpback whales migrate from Antarctica to breed in Australian waters.

Witness the behaviour of these migrating beasts of the ocean in the pristine bays of the spectacular south-west of Western Australia.

The season begins in June at Augusta and goes through till August.  Viewing off Dunsborough starts end of August and goes until early December.

An experience not to be missed!  There are plenty of great look out points along the coastline or you can get up really close on a whale watching tour.
