Where Two Oceans Meet
Located at the mouth of the Blackwood River, Augusta offers pristine beaches, perfect for swimming, fishing, surfing, diving and boating.
From June through to December, Augusta is alive with whale song. Due to its protected aspect Augusta is perfect for winter whale watching. During your trip, you will encounter both Humpback and Southern Right Whales as they migrate northwards and also local pods of dolphins and New Zealand Fur Seals from the nearby colony in Flinders Bay.
Jewel Cave and Moondyne
8kms from Augusta on Caves Road lies Jewel Cave. Moondyne Cave is located nearby.
Hamelin Bay
This magnificent area boasts a sweeping bay with sheltered swimming and diving around interesting limestone formations. Explore the wreck trail in the bay.
Augusta Historical Museum
Steeped in history, Augusta is the third oldest settlement in Western Australia. Located on Blackwood Avenue, in the heart of Augusta, the museum tells the story of the town and its history.
Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse marks the extreme South West corner of Australia where the Indian and Southern Ocean meet. The lighthouse is open for viewing daily between 9am and 4pm.
