For many people a holiday is not a holiday without some fishing! Fishing around Busselton and Dunsborough provides you with a range of fish and crustaceans to catch and enjoy. Whilst the stocks are not large by world standards, with careful management they will provide recreational pleasure far into the future.

When fishing in Busselton or Dunsborough be aware that bag limits to apply- check the allowances with local bait and tackle stores or the Department of Fisheries.

Beach Fishing - just like providing great swimming beaches, the white sandy shores of Geographe Bay are fantastic to fish from! Throw a line out and relax on the protected shores of the bay. In season, you can also try you luck at netting some of the local crustaceans.

Jetty Fishing - The Busselton Jetty is now over 140 years, and has long been a favourite fishing spot. Cast your line to catch some local squid amongst a number of local fish varieties. In the summer evenings many families can be seen heading out to their favourite spot on the jetty, to enjoy the cool evening air and relax with a line in hand.

Bay Fishing - The area from Meelup to Cape Naturaliste includes some lovely fishing spots. You can fish from the beaches and bays around this area which provide a quiet retreat from the bustling city beaches.

Game Fishing - The big ones are out there! If game fishing you enjoy, then book a local charter and head out into the deep waters. The Charters generally operate over the summer months, and do require a minimum number. Contact the Busselton or Dunsborough Visitor Centres for more information.

Busselton and Dunsborough like all great seaside towns have a range of fish and chip shops- so if you come home empty handed you can always enjoy local fish the old fashioned way!
